Greg Kasstan has more than 50 years of experience in the electronics field. After completing his formal electronic training he has worked on a vast amount of diverse electrical, electronic, and communications systems. He helped install the first electronic scales and control system in Thunder Bay at Saskatchewan Wheat Pool 7 now Viterra as an electrical apprentice. In 2019 he repaired and upgraded the latest digital radio system at Viterra.

He worked as an Avionics tech installing and maintaining avionics and electrical control systems on a fleet of 27 aircraft in Thunder Bay and North Western Ontario. Not only did he work on voice communications systems he was also responsible for all the Navigation and electrical and electronic control systems including digital transponders, distance measuring equipment and aircraft radar systems.

His career took him to join John Hastie where he began installing and maintaining Marine Radar and communications on all the ships. He received formal training on several types of steering gear systems and ECPINS electronic Navigation systems. Greg has worked and serviced INMARSAT satellite communications systems, underground Mine Radio Systems, Leaky feeder systems, microwave and multiplex radio systems, gryo compasses and hydraulic control systems.

At CRC Communications for the past 30 years he has continued to install and maintain ambulance, police, fire dept, MTO, and CBSA equipment. He has serviced all types of radio systems made by Motorola, ICOM, Kenwood, analogue and digital conventional and trunked radio systems.

In the fast changing electronics field his technical knowledge and diverse skills are relied upon daily throughout North Western Ontario. Greg has also maintained a dual career in the Canadian Forces Reserve serving in a Command position at HMCS Griffon in the Naval reserve. He has transitioned to a position with the Canadian Cadet Organization as the Administration Officer with the 70 Thunder Bay Air Cadets.

He can be seen at the Canada games complex , Thunder Bay Border Cats games and Thunder Wolves hockey games with his family.
